About the course

A full-day format that gives participants deeper and broader practical skills in first aid and CPR with a defibrillator. We train more scenarios and build the confidence to act immediately until the ambulance takes over.

What you will learn

  • Adult CPR: compressions, ventilations, correct depth/rate and safety
  • Defibrillator (AED): when/how to connect, pad placement and following voice prompts
  • Choking: back blows and abdominal thrusts — identify and relieve quickly
  • Severe/life-threatening bleeding: direct pressure, dressings/pressure bandage and elevation
  • Shock (circulatory failure): signs, causes and correct actions
  • Burns: immediate cooling, burn depth, covering and when to seek care
  • Electrical injuries: specific risks, observation and actions
  • Epilepsy/seizures: make safe, time the seizure and aftercare
  • Heart attack & stroke (FAST): recognise symptoms and act
  • Head-to-toe assessment: a systematic injury survey
  • Head, neck and musculoskeletal injuries: stabilisation and positioning
  • Recovery position and a safe 112 call chain (incl. Sweden’s SMS Lifesaver)
