About the training
This training provides essential understanding of how to prepare, act and communicate during an active-threat (PDV) incident until police and rescue services take over. The focus is on creating confidence, reducing exposure to risk and enabling a faster return to safe operations.
What we cover
- Roles & responsibilities: management, points of contact, evacuation leads
- Calling 112: what to say, who calls, internal information flow
- Evacuate, shelter-in-place and lock-down: when to choose which, and how to execute
- Safe zones, assembly areas and rendezvous points
- Communication: clear messaging, channels and redundancy
- Immediate life-saving actions while awaiting help (e.g., control severe bleeding, airway, place in a safe position)
- Coordination: meeting police/rescue services and supporting the response
- Post-incident: psychosocial support, documentation, follow-up and improvement
Outcomes
- A practical action plan and checklist tailored to your premises
- Staff know how to alert, inform and choose the right action (evacuate / shelter / lock)
- The organisation can deliver basic first response while awaiting help and restart safely
